Congressional Schools of Virginia Reviews

The School Leadership changed during the 2007/2008 year and has made a significant and positive difference. This is our child's third year at Congressional and we are extremely pleased with her progress intellectually, physically and emotionally. Academically it ranks very well. A lot of thought goes into curriculum development. For a private school it has a very positive family atmospere.

Both my children are at school here and love it. The school is extra-ordinarily well rounded. Academically it is superb and the social atmosphere is one that creates a sense of family.

I went to CSOV from 2004-2006 and i loved it! The teachers were just brilliant, and my fellow students were awesome! It was a big change from schools in the UK, but if i had to choose i'd definitely choose CSOV!

The teachers are good, but unfortunately are under the control of the Head of school (who also calls herself the CEO). It has a lot of potential, but it won't be shown with the current administration.

My son is a 7th grader at Congressional, and has attended since Kindergarten. Academically, it's very strong. Excellent teachers, nurturing environment. Small class size. Very high standards of excellence. Strong emphasis on language skills and teaching the students how to think and write cogently and coherently. Teachers are fabulous, some of whom have been teaching at the school for 20 years +. Sports program a little weak -- not the most athletic bunch of kids! All in all, an academically strong school to prep students for the most rigorous high schools.

Our children love Congressional, and as parents we are so proud of the high academic standards and great ethical teaching that the children receive. Congressional places an emphasis on not only academics, but also on learning to behave morally and ethically in any situation. A fabulous school with an excellent campus and all certified teachers.

My daughter attended this school from PK to third grade. Her teachers were spectacular with the right combination of structure and warmth. The peer group watch very little TV (it showed), participated in sports, music and other extracurricular activities. This was an emotionally healthy and international environment, perfect for kids who like an academic challenge.
