Renaissance Christian Academy Reviews

Renaissance has really step up there game this school year its elementary students grades K-5. The curriculum is more challenging, the teachers are more engaging, the specialty subjects are continually evolving. I believe the principal is truly commited to developing and challenging kids on various levels. If Renaissance keeps up at this pace students are definately in store for a great school year this year and years to come. Kudos to the principal and the staff for making and continuing to make the necessary changes needed to develop our students to be the next generation of entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, teachers and maybe even the next president.

I think renaissance christian acadmey is a excellent school. The teacher are very caring and the students are always willing and ready to learn

Obviously the person who wrote the review on may 21, 2008, is either on the church board, works for the school, or is in the click. As one other person stated rca is not equipped to teach above grade level 4 as far as i m concerned. They definitely shouldn't be teaching middle school level. My child has been attending the school for five year and we only got one good year out of the school. The administration sucks! in the past couple of years the school has lost several good teachers because of the administration not willing to work with them for the best of the students. So i suggest if you are thinking of enrolling you child in the school run as fast as you can in the other direction your child will be better off in a public school. Now you know that is bad.

What could I say about Renaissance Christian School. This is a wonderful school to attend and all the teachers from K3 - 8 grades are wonderful also. We as parent have a lot to say about the way we do not like things if it is not going our way. Renaissance is a Christian School, a safe environment where you can leave your child (children). Every teacher at RCA teach will great knowledge, write lesson plans, and very creativity in what he or she do. The students have to work to achieve their grades. The parents and students have to realize that they have to study, be prepare for class, and do their best at all time. We as parents have to believe in the teacher that they only want the best for our children. So before we start putting down RCA just remember people in glass house don't throw.

RCA is not a school for Middle Grade Students (5th - 8th grade). It is an excellent school for Pre-K - 4th grade. I really believe that RCA should rethink their position about teaching students that are older than 10 years. If I was to rate this school as far as Middle School Education, I would have to give them a grade of D. The return rate for teachers is horrible in the Middle School. Each year, the students have to return to new teachers, this is not good for the morale of the school or the students. The teachers and staff are there to teach and uplift the students but I hear more negatives than positives.

If their was a rating under unsatisfactory that would be my rating. I am currently a student at RCA ,and I have not been pleased ever since i got their. Their was some unstableness in education before i came to RCA so I was retained and I have to say my grades have improved from what they were but i feel that I could have done that at another school. The principal doesn't even consider anythings the students suggest its not school you should consider at all!

I have to agree with the majority of the responses. RCA is a school for children between the ages of 3 to approximately 10years of age. After that, I would strongly suggest you seek another educational institutions with specialized and certified staff who are highly trained and skilled to teach and prepare your middle school child. The children are also limited to extra-curricular activities

I have two children who attend RCA and I have to agree with the comment that this school isn t good for older kids. I love the Pre-K teachers and the curriculum set forth for them, especially the learning of Bible verses. However, for young boys who are going into puberty, this is definitely not a good school for them. My oldest is in the 7th grade and I ve had more conferences this one year, than I ve had his entire school life. There aren t any male teachers to guide these young men and the female teachers don t know how to handle them. Their solution to any and every little thing that is done is to send home conduct referrals and have conferences. The one teacher, who did try to reach out and help, was intercepted by the principal with some absurd reason as to why she could not continue to assist. The school portrays the image of being Christians, but honestly, it s just a job to them. This school needs to stop at elementary age. They are not equipped to handle middle school kids, especially boys. I would never recommend this school to anyone over age 10.

Both my children are attending RCA, my 4 years old son is an excellent reader He can read the first grade book, and my 7 years old daugther is Principal honor roll student. RCA is a school where the children come first. Each child is encouraged to do their personal best without being labeled as the smart or dumb kids. The teachers are highly skilled and work hard to bring out the best in each child. The principal is kind and knows each child by name. She is a great example of a leader and I will miss seeing her everyday as my daughter graduates this year. Thank you RCA for bringing out the best in my children and giving them the encouragement and confidence they need to go out into the world. I'm very satisfied their school program. I really salute their hard work

I have 4 children to attend RCA and all have receive a good education. Just like all school some changes has occurred such as new administration and teacher and RCA is a Loving and caring environment. I hope when you when the commits that you come and see RCA for yourself.

After reading the reviews posted on this site for Renaissance Christian Academy, I was deeply saddened to have read such negative comments. I have two daughters who have reaped the benefits of attending RCA. My oldest daughter attended RCA from K-5 through 8th grade. When she graduated and moved on to high school, she was very well prepared. Even though she had come from the small class sizes of RCA, she was able to adjust well and remains an honor student. I know that her prepardness came from RCA. My youngest daughter is a elementary student at RCA, and she is receiving the same quality education that her sister received. Sometimes it's good to try things for yourself. If you would like your pre-schooler thru 8th grader to receive the kind of quality and caring in their education that my children have received, check RCA out for yourself.

This school is ok for 3-5 year olds. Once they get into 2nd grade and over this school isn't the best to attend. The principal is NOT open to suggestion (even when parents have major complaints towards some teachers or other issues). Parents met wih her 2 years in a row concerning a horrible teacher and nothing was done. There is a lot of favortism towards certain kids. They need computers, a real playground for the older kids, a real foreign language teacher and so many more things that I can't get into here. They don't follow rules for PG County as far as how many days kids are in class. The 2nd year that my child was there we were out because of snow and the school's pipes burst and we were out an extra week for that. Other schools made up time time but not this school.

I attented RCA from k5-8th grade(I rencently graduated in June).I love that school. Most of the teachers are caring and loving. RCA made me one of the best readers. I learned to read at the age of 5. They may not have alot of extra-curricular activites but I think that education is the most important thing to look for in a school. I made the honor roll all of my years at RCA. The school is not big so there is not alot of confusion it is a close knit fasmily school. I would recommend RCA to any parent who wants their child/children to receive the best education!!!!!!!!

My child attended RCA for 1 year and 2 months. I believe the school cares more about their appearance and their name rather than the students. They also talk about how much their students mean to them, but I've found that to be a lie. They care only about the money they receive, and their schools reputation. In the second month of my child's Kindergarten year, they told me that my child belongs in a public school with public school children. He was an 'A' student, and ahead of most of the children in his class. The administrator, and Director of Preschool, 'out of the blue' sent us on our way and referred a book to us they felt we should read. They were cruel and insensitive. They cause a lot of pain to my child who was loved by many children and their parents.

My child has attended RCA for 2 years. I like the fact that I do not have to do fundraisers, like most other schools. I do have a problem with the teaching styles. They are not consistent from year to year. I feel that each teacher should pick up exactly where the last one left the children the previous year. The foreign language program is below average in my opinion. They don't have any computer classes. But according to the curriculum all of these are supposed to be taught.
