From the Heart Christian School Reviews

FTHCS is adding more extracurricular activities, such as sports. Some parents fail to understand that the school actually needed parental volunteers to make such activities happen. So please parents continue to give back. This school is excellent in every aspect. God is good.

Our daughter started FTHCS September '07 in K3. Although she had a strong foundation from the previous daycare provider, FTHCS enhanced that 100 fold. In that school year, my daughter became very articulate in her speach, and the decipline is unmatched. We were so pleased with her progress, we enrolled our son. I love having my children learn in an environment where they do not have to worry about being bullied or fitting in with the 'in crowd'. This school teaches the children who they are in the eyes of God, and yes, that IS better than the self confidence any sport can give. I agree children need activities to have fun and develop skills in working as a team, that is why my children are enrolled in activies at one of the Maryland community centers. Children need to learn schoold is a place of business - the business of learning.

I believe that FTH is a great school to send your children from K3-5 after that I would send my child to another school where they can experience seeing other types a people and learn how to interact with them. Also they would be able to experience activities such as basketball or cheerleading to teach them responsiblity. Give them an opportunity to go to Homecoming or Prom so they can make memories. I believe children should learn but a little fun and memories wont hurt.

I would agree that FTHCS is not for everyone. What school is? However, FTHCS profess to be the best and it is when it comes to teaching the children the Word of God. It s the best! However, we must be able to match that great teaching of Jesus with some great teaching in academics as well. And this is where FTHCS is falling short. After all isn t that what the paid tuition is for FTHCS need to build the math, science and technology programs and invest in only degreed educated teachers. In addition, add those extras enjoyments for children such as, basket ball, football, cheerleading etc to make learning fun. The quality of teachers at FTHCS is what the school needs to first look into. Someone teaching major subjects with a high school diploma from 40 -50 years ago is not going to cut it . Can not recommend.

FTHCHS is not for everyone, only for those who are called into the vision that God gave to FTHCHS. For those called into the vision, this school is essential for spiritual and natural success. Naturally, I received skills in communication (verbal and written), leadership, problem solving, team building, and collegiate prepartion through discipline and endurance. Spiritually, I learned to know myself from God's perspective, and how to accept, develop, and give who God made me to be (this is not a cliche). In addition, I also learned to articulate the faith of Jesus Christ to others. If you open your eyes and ears to what the Lord wants to teach you at FTHCHS, you'll be blessed forever: I know from personal experience. I deem this school very highly; it's God-ordained, and to be blunt, the world's schools can't compare. Is the school for you? Well, I'll let you decide.

I recently graduated from From the Heart Christian High School. I had been there since the beginning, back when it was Full Gospel. From my experience, what I can say is although the school had gone through various changes and re-arranges since 2002, and although I cannot defend the lack of important outlets for the children, like sports, I still gained valuable information that would help me in college (both natural and spiritual). The 'tough-love' discipline that I had received from the military training at B.I.R.T.H. (though I despised it with a passion at first) actually helped me attain the strong, militant, and yet spiritual mindset I needed to make it into one of the most prestigious majors at my current college. So, yes, this school might lack major qualities, but the knowledge and experience I gained by attending this school are definitely worth more to me than some basketball team.

The Christian foundation is great, but when you get down to the quality of teachers and staff you start to see the problem. I was surprised at the some of the attitudes of the teachers. It s my opinion that the school needs to be revamp from top to bottom.

My experience has been great! I encourage the teachers to keep up the excellent work in the body of Christ for the children of God! I would not trade this setting for my child concerning her education nor her Christian nurturing for anything. Stay strong in the Lord and be of good courage!

My children were students to graduation. The Preschool and Middle School is top notch! The High School has undergone a major overhaul for the better. Great academics and teachers that care about the students beyond what's required. Students have the opportunity to excel beyond their grade level if motivated. SOLID Christian foundation, so be prepared for the 100 fold. You cannot mix the world with Christianity. Your child will struggle. The school overall is in a good place right now. New principal and a new H.S. location. Also, a major authority figure was removed from the H.S. that had strong control over the students in a manner beyond normal. If they stick to educating, they'll be fine. The top leadership MUST be ACTIVELY involved in this school so that we don't give the adversary any place. I'd definitely send my children through Pre & Middle School again, the High School... don't know.

From the Heart is awesome for young Christians as they develop in the Lord. The preschool and elementary school have excellent standards. The teachers provide one-on-one attention when needed, ensuring that truly no child is left behind.

This school is fine for preschool and the early primary grades. The children get a good foundation in the basics. From 4th grade on, you may encounter problems with your children receiving the advanced skills in writing and math that will carry them through middle school and beyond. I have had to pay outside tutors to supplement the education that my children are receiving. Our time here is drawing to a close!

FTHCS has a strong Christian foundation, but if you have a problem with a class schedule or just a minor mix up, the staff act as though they are incompetence or just lazy; when it comes to getting something corrected... or, whether it a small conflicts with a child or just a simple mix up with school pictures.I would not recommend this school to anyone. In fact, I would recommend that if you have a child, remove him/her.The school is not what it use to be, nor what it ought to be! This is the last yr for my children.

I fill that the school needs to be more experienced in knowing how to deal with complex situations involving children. I fill that the the school is very incompetent in that area, it gives the church and school a bad impression.

Before enrolling your children in FTHCS, ask some very basic, normal questions and see if you receive a direct and true answer. For instance, ask if the teachers are college degree and, if so, ask how many and what grade level and subject are the degree teachers teaching; ask about the curriculum and compare it with the other private schools in the area, ask about extracurricular activities like if they have a basket ball, cheerleading, soccer etc. Most importantly, ask about the school board and as a parent tell them you would like to be apart of it (not their Parent With A Purpose group), but the school board, which make all of the decisions for the school. I would be very surprise if you got the answers you wanted or just a straight answer at all. I do not recommend this school. ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU ENROL!

From the Heart Christian School is a normal school, the only difference is the love and care shown by the teachers. It has many problems, but what school doesn't? I have been at this school for 11 years and even though it has changed drasitically the academics have not. You may not like the teachers and you may find the way the school operates, the inclusion of military like discipline, but none of that really matters in the end. All that matters is that this school will help you to be Christlike and have an excellent education.

It was a good school when it was Full Gospel but when they chaged to From the Heart that is when all the problems occured. My parents had a problem with the teachers they began to bring in to teach us. so if you are wise you would take my advice and never ever put your child or childrenin that School.

Very good school. Uses advanced curriculem. High School consistently graduates entire senior class, with most students continuing education. Small class sizes. Parent Participation is required by the school. After school program for late pickup. Pre-k program is tops, with most students reading above their grade level.
