Holton-Arms School Reviews

Holton is a great school. I am in the seventh grade there and i love it!

My daughter has been at Holton for four years. Although she does not love the all-girl environment, she has gown to be a remarkably insightful, confident, academically accomplished student. She has excelled in the arts and athletically. She has loved her middle school experience and the lap-top program. She has learned to take advantage of the wealth of opportunities and support provided by Holton to ensure each student's success. As we move out of state and away from this amazing school, I know the values and confidence that come from attending an all-girl school will be with my daughter always.

This is my first year at Holton and I am LOVING IT! The girls accepted me so very kindly and I got just enough attention that I needed. It supplied all of my educational needs. We get a snack everyday and the lunch is actually, very good! There is always salad, soup, and a vegetarian entree. Don't forget dessert! Since it is a single sex school, my friends and I, don't have to worry about how we look of how to flirt, but to be ourselves. HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend!!!!!

Holton-Arms is an excellent school, but not necessarily for everyone. Many of the girls attend because their parents want them to be there, and not because they want to be there. Sometimes the heavy academic workload can be stressful. Make sure it's a good fit for your daughter, especially at the middle and upper school levels.

Holton-Arms is well-known for its excruciatingly difficult academics, fabulous arts programs, off-the charts athletics, and much more. My daughter is in the eleventh grade and is supported by her school with a scholarship. She is an all-american lacrosse player and is very competitive in academics.

My comment is regarding parent Daniel Grasso's review. His review was very helpful to me as my daughter is now applying to the school to enter 5th grade in 2005. I want to make sure that she is in an academically rigorous environment, but that her development in other areas is not shortchange. The tone of this parent's email sounds very much like what I heard when I went to a recent open house. I am encouraged. Thank you.

My daughter had attended Holton since third grade. She is in 9th grade now (May 2004). My wife determined that the single sex school concept had something going for it and Holton has proven that true. The teachers and staff are outstanding. The head-of-school is one of a kind. They are strong not only on the academic level, but in the arts and sports. They recently completed an expansion and rennovaton of classroom space and purchase of top notch science equipment. Although the tuition is high ($20,000 per year, which they are sure to remind you includes lunch) no one should be put off by that since scholarships and financial aid are available. We know several who pay reduced tuition or none at all. Unfortunately, we pay full freight, but consider it worth the money. Zoning restrictions keep the enrollment at the 665 level. Very worthwhile to check out.
