As we count down the final weeks until Election Day, join The Washington Post's top political reporters at the Newseum's Annenberg Theater on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., as they discuss the latest news from the campaign trail. The 2008 presidential election is one of the most exciting in the country's history, and Post reporters are there for the ups, downs and in betweens as Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama enter the home stretch. Journalists Dan Balz, Marcia Davis, Jose Antonio Vargas and Kevin Merida will share their perspectives on this historic race for the White House. Newseum Executive Director Joe Urschel will moderate the program. The Post's deputy managing editor Milton Coleman will give a special introduction. The doors to the Annenberg Theater will open at 6:45 p.m. Program ticket holders can come early and tour the Newseum before the panel discussion.BIOS OF PANELISTS 
Marcia Davis is the political and government editor for The Washington Post's Metro section. She oversees the Post's political blog "D.C. Wire" and is a former assignment editor for the paper's Style section. Previously, Davis served as senior editor for Emerge magazine.
 Jose Antonio Vargas is a reporter for The Washington Post, where he covers the convergence of politics and the Internet. Previously, he wrote about video game culture and HIV/AIDS in Washington, and won a Pulitzer Prize as part of a team that covered the 2007 massacre at Virginia Tech.
 Kevin Merida is an associate editor at The Washington Post. He has been a national political reporter for the paper, a feature writer for its Style section, and a columnist for the Post's Sunday magazine. In 2000, he was named Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists.
 Dan Balz is the national political correspondent for The Washington Post. He joined the paper in 1978 and has been involved in the paper's political coverage as a reporter or editor for the past 27 years. He is co-author, with Ronald Brownstein of the Los Angeles Times, of the 1996 book "Storming the Gates: Protest Politics and the Republican Revival."
