Woodcraft Artisans: Unique teak furniture
If you’re looking for a unique piece of furniture that will last, and you don’t want to find that all your neighbors bought the same one at Pottery Barn, go no further than Woodcraft Artisans shop in Annapolis, Md. The owner travels to Indonesia a few times a year to hand-pick and ship pieces back to his bright, quaint shop for sale.
Most of his furniture is hand-made from teak, which is hard and durable enough to withstand outdoor conditions, major usage, small children and pets.
The Woodcraft Artisans shop fits perfectly with the Annapolis feel: unique stores, boutiques and no major chains (except for a Ben & Jerry’s). Even if visitors didn’t go to Indonesia themselves, a purchase from Woodcraft Artisans is a major find.
Upon entering the store, many visitors have the same “Wow!” reaction – each piece is really quite beautiful, a glowing, rich brown wood and obviously strong craftsmanship throughout. Though a copy or similar piece may be, sadly, found mass-produced at a Pottery Barn or Crate & Barrel, the furniture in this store is different enough to be distinct, and is priced even lower than what’s sold at mass-produced shops.
Some of the furniture holds a very Asian flair, while others have clean, modern lines. Wood benches lined with bright pillows, armoires, dressers, sturdy shelving, patio sets, living room chairs and trunks are among some of the furniture in the shop. Woodcraft Artisans can ship, or you can bring it home yourself.
